Who we are

Hi, I’m Holly: artist, writer, maker, and collector of entirely too many interests.

Forbidden Salt is my little corner of the woods for making things, exploring ideas, and following curiosity wherever it decides to wander.

Sometimes that means stickers and illustrations. Sometimes ceramics, fiber art, sewing, or whatever new medium has taken over my worktable. Sometimes it means an essay I couldn’t stop thinking about, a very specific rabbit hole, or a conversation worth having.

I don’t think creativity has to pick a lane.

Neither does curiosity.

So Forbidden Salt isn’t really one kind of shop, one kind of blog, or one kind of anything. It’s a collection of art, words, goods, and a kinder chaos — made slowly, thoughtfully, imperfectly, and with an unreasonable fondness for the strange little things that make life more interesting.

You’ll find mushrooms and moths here. Books and stories. Handmade things. Big feelings. Odd thoughts. Probably a snail or two.

And behind all of it, you’ll find me — making what I can, writing what I notice, learning things simply because I want to know them, and building a place for other curious human beings to do the same.
